Clatfords Village Store would cease to function without its volunteers, who perform a variety of essential roles.
We would love you to join us - it’s a great way to get to know people in the village, and it’s great fun.
You’ll get training and support, and we’ll gratefully take as much or as little time as you can offer.
If you’d like to help in the Post Office or shop contact Cecilia Haszlakiewicz on firstname.lastname@example.org
or 01264 366 233.
Please also feel free to visit the shop for an informal chat.
Volunteering has benefits for all ages.
- Be part of your community
But don't just take our word for it!
I have volunteered for the shop for years and I have now transferred to working in the Post Office. There are always the friendly smiling faces of both customers and staff to welcome you. I LOVE IT!
I go to the shop twice a week for 2 hour stints and each time is different and diverse. There are a huge variety of jobs to get your teeth into; e.g. re-stocking shelves, sorting out new stock, tidying the store room, date checking, cleaning various areas, serving and helping customers, making tea, and of course chatting and hearing about local issues, events and celebrations. The dreaded till is much easier than you would think and not frightening at all, and in any case there is always an experienced person in the shop with you to help.
I usually have fun while in the shop and I get quite a buzz from knowing that I am an integral part of my community and helping to make our local shop and PO a great amenity. It is also a great pleasure to meet and welcome new residents to the village and encourage them to join us volunteers in the shop!
I look forward to welcoming you to your friendly local store, either as a volunteer or as a customer. Come and join us and make new friends.
